At Lighthouse Presbyterian Church we believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and believe in these essential Articles of Faith:

The Bible The Bible consists of all the books of the Old and New Testaments and is the Word of God. It is supernaturally given revelation from God Himself (inspired by the Holy Spirit). These Scriptures are true and without error.

The Trinity God in three persons. There is one God, eternally existing and manifesting Himself to us in three Persons––Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ Our Lord Jesus is the one and the only person able to save men and women from death, which is eternal separation and punishment from God because of sin. Jesus eternally existed as the Son of God and by His own choice, laid down His divine glory and took upon Himself the form of a servant, made into the likeness of men. That is, Jesus was supernaturally conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Jesus was put to death by crucifixion under Pontius Pilate. God raised this Jesus from the dead. The Lord Jesus after His crucifixion showed Himself to be alive to His disciples. After this, the Lord Jesus ascended into heaven, and the Father caused Him to sit at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come, and put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him to be Head over all things to the Church.

We confess the mystery of His two natures, fully divine and fully human, in one person. He came not to condemn, but to save mankind from sin. "For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily.”

Jesus promised His disciples that He would not leave them comfortless when He ascended into heaven, but would ask the Father to send them the Holy Spirit as a comforter and advocate. We are able to confess Jesus Christ as Lord and God only through the work of the Holy Spirit.

Humanity Man (man & woman) was created in the image of God, after His likeness, but the whole human race fell in the fall of the first Adam. All men are lost, darkened in their understanding, and alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them. They are hardened in heart, morally and spiritually dead through their trespasses and sins. They cannot see, nor enter the kingdom of God until they are born again of the Holy Spirit.

Men are justified on the simple and single ground of the shed blood of Christ and upon the simple and single condition of faith in Him who shed His blood, and are born again by the cleansing and renewing work of the Holy Spirit, through the instrumentality of the Word of God.

The Church All those who, by God’s grace, receive Jesus Christ as their Savior and their Lord, and who confess Him as such before their fellow men. They have become children of God by the Holy Spirit and receive eternal life. They become heirs of God and joint-heirs with Jesus Christ. The Church is the body and bride of Christ, who Christ loves and for which He has given Himself.
